IDF chief: Other nations could strike Iran General Benny Gantz and Bill Koenig at Mt. Herzl in Jerusalem, April 25, 2012. Israel's military chief said Thursday that other countries have readied their armed forces for a potential strike against Iran's nuclear sites to keep Tehran from acquiring atomic weapons. Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz did not specify which nations might be willing to support or take direct action against Iran. Still, his comments were one of the strongest hints yet that Israel may have the backing of other countries to strike the Islamic Republic to prevent it from developing nuclear arms. "The military force is ready," Gantz said. "Not only our forces, but other forces as well." Ehud Barak: Israel has no reason to believe Western sanctions will stop Iran's nuclear program Barak (left) on Thursday with Former IDF Major General Matan Vilnai Photo / Ynet, Moti Kimchi According to Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, “the worry of the Iranian leadership is that the international allied supervision will lead to an American, Israeli or international military operation, which... causes them to focus on deepening their immunity as a response to the possibility of an attack. We have no reason to believe that immunity will change the mind of the leadership or prevent it from moving toward a nuclear weapon.” Netanyahu to ask court to delay demolition of Ulpana homes The Ulpana Community Photo / Jerusalem Post In the next few days, the state plans to ask the High Court of Justice to postpone the scheduled demolition of 30 homes in the Ulpana outpost. Earlier this month, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that he would work to find a solution to avoid the demolition. Ulpana residents have argued that the Beit El Yeshiva and Amana – the construction arm of the settlement movement – bought the land from Palestinian landowners. They received state-guaranteed mortgages and grants to buy it. "The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day." - E. M. Bounds
